Velia was a woman like no other — strong, loving, caring, hardworking, fiercely independent till the end and full of life. A proud Abruzzese, from the quiet, picturesque village of Salle, she carried with her the strength and determination of the mountain girl she always was.
Even as age, hearing loss and pain began to take a toll on her body, Velia remained determined to live in her own home and on her own terms and was very much the captain of her own ship. We will love her forever and we will miss her laughter and unique gestures, always remaining the heart and glue of our family.
She will be sadly missed by her loving children Marisa, Alfio, Lorena (Sergio) and Ada (Kevin), her cherished grandchildren Stefanie (Nicolas), Cassandra, Amanda, Sara and Chiara, her great-grandchildren Justin and Charlotte, her sisters-in-law Maria, Gina and Alba and many other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
