Virginia M. Carrothers

April 29, 2026 Dignity Memorial

Virginia M. Carrothers (Turner) - Jesus called her home to heaven on April 29, 2026. Virginia was born in Flint, Michigan where she grew up and graduated from Central High School. She was a member of South Baptist Church where she was active in Cubbies.

Virginia's favorite verses were Psalm 139:23-24

She leaves behind her daughter Sherry Wood (Ray Zanke) and grandson Justin Wood (Shannon Wood), several nieces and nephews, and a sister Myrta Bowsell of Clay City, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Olin Carrothers, her daughter Linda (Carrothers) Myers; her sister Mildred Angus and husband Dave Angus, sister Ida Payne and husband James Payne, sister-in-law Irvalene Marcum and husband Ed Marcum, brother-in-law Claude Carrothers and wife Donna Carrothers.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Fountain View of Woodhaven Assisted Living and The Medical Team Home Hospice. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make a memorial contribution to Carriage Town Ministries or Community Kids.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI 48439. A funeral service will take place on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 11am with a visitation one hour prior at Brown Funeral Home. Virginia will be laid to rest at Crestwood Cemetery following the funeral service.
