In Sherbrooke at the Fleurimont Hospital, on August 26, 2026, at the age of 83, passed away Walter Ross, beloved husband of the late Lucy McAdam Ross.

He leaves to mourn his children, Tina (Jean), Susan (Robert) and Sandy (Simon), his grandchildren, Pierre (Justine) and Andre Brazeau. And 2 great grandchildren Lily-Rose and Charles.

He was pre-deceased by his parents John Ross and Lenora Smith, his brother Charlie Ross and his sisters Freida Kane and Dorothy Tibbitts.

He was the longtime umpire at the Sutton Ballpark and could often be seen watching games there throughout the summer.

Watching sports, the Weather Network and The Price is Right were some of his favourite past times.

He took great pride in how his lawn looked and was known to let his neighours know when it was past time to mow.

A huge thank you goes out to all his neighbours in Knowlton who looked out for him and helped fix his TV a time or two.

In accordance with Walter’s wishes, a private ceremony was held at the Glen Sutton Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at CHUS Fleurimont for their support and the compassionate care provided.

In memory of Mr. Ross, and as an expression of sympathy, the family suggests making a donation to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.

He will be dearly missed.
