Wanda Jean Redick

Wanda Jean Redick, 79, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, at Emory Hospital in Perry, Georgia. Born on June 18, 1946, in Spencer County, Kentucky, she was raised on her family’s farm near Elk Creek, where she developed the strong values and gentle spirit that would guide her throughout her life.She lived in Louisville, Kentucky, before moving to Macon, Georgia, in 1980, where she created a warm and loving home and became a cherished member of her community. Wanda was married for 59 years and was a devoted wife and mother of four children. Known for her nurturing spirit, kindness, and unwavering devotion, she touched the lives of family and friends with quiet strength and gentle care. Her presence brought comfort, her actions spoke of love, and her legacy will live on in all who knew her.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Redick; her parents, Joseph and Della Shewmaker; her brother, Robert Shewmaker; her sister, Joann Shelburne; and her cherished granddaughter, Elaina “Lainey” Redick.She is lovingly remembered by her sons, David, Jon Mark, and Joseph Redick; her daughter, Julie Redick; her grandsons, Austin, Joshua, and Spencer; and her granddaughters, Caroline and Lillian Redick, along with many extended family members and dear friends.A private graveside service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wanda’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.Please visit http://www.hartsmort.com to express condolences.
