William Charles Corey

William Charles Corey passed on July 18, 2026, at the age of 99.Born in Buffalo, Ny to Mary and Earle Corey, he grew up in Ridgewood, NJ, graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, December 1947, a veteran of World War II.He graduated from Syracuse University in 1950, where he met his wife, Sallie Burns Corey of 75 years.At Syracuse he was President of his fraternity, Phi Delta Theta and graduated with honors.He is survived by his children, Kitley Rainwater of La Plata, MD, Charles Corey of Ootlewah, TN, Taylor Corey of Cary, NC, and Geoffrey Corey of Fuquay, NC, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.His career was in sales, sales/marketing management and general management with Standard Brands Inc., Warnaco Inc., The Traub Co., and R.G. Barry.Upon retirement, he was associated with Right Management as a Senior Consultant.At Bill's request there will not be a memorial service.His body has been willed to Duke University Medical Center.Donations may be made to: Everett A.
