William "Bill" Wentz, a wise cracking, quietly helpful man died as he would have wanted, at his home in Laurel Gardens Pittsburgh, PA on August 20th with his daughter and cats attending to him. Bill's wife Sarah preceded him in death in 2005; they are now reunited in the presence of their savior Jesus in God's Kingdom.

Bill led a long life of independence overcoming his own father's death when Bill was 12 and an essential tremor that caused many troublesome balance issues. Most of William's immediate family members passed away many years ago, including his sister and brother. Reaching 90, lifting weights, shoveling snow and repairing appliances into his 70s, Bill could not escape his own quip, "People are dying today who never died before."

Bill is survived by his daughter Chaplain Dianna S Wentz, BCC and his brother Donald Wentz, several nieces and nephews, wonderful friends, neighbors and 2 cats.

There will be a memorial service for Bill in October at Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church and a small graveside interment service on Tuesday August 25th at Allegheny County Memorial Park at 2PM 1600 Duncan Ave Allison Park PA 15237. In lieu of flowers, family asks for donations to be sent to local animal shelters.
