He completed boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina, and went on to serve honorably during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.Nick found joy in spending time at the lake, especially water skiing, and he was an avid sports fan who could always be counted on to cheer for the underdog. He never tired of watching The Andy Griffith Show and had seen every episode. He valued staying active and maintaining his fitness, going to the gym and exercising at home, even when it became challenging. Many may not have realized that Nick also had a creative spirit, which he expressed through his thoughtful writing and artistic drawings.
