Yvon Gravel passed away in 2026 at the age of 89 years and 1 month. He was the husband of the late Mme Lisa Jean and resided in Laterrière. He was the son of the late Mme Marguerite Laforge and the late M. Victorien Gravel.
He died on June 26, 2026, at the CIUSSS du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Centre d'hébergement Jacques-Cartier. His family held a visitation on August 9, 2026, from 9 am to 12 pm at the Complexe funéraire Chicoutimi, where a funeral service also took place from 12 pm to 1 pm. His remains were entrusted to the crematorium of the Alliance funéraire du Royaume, with plans for inhumation at the Laterrière cemetery.
He is survived by his children: Marc (Maryse Poulin), Sylvain, and Gilles (Marie-Josée Huard); his grandchildren: Mathieu Poulin-Gravel, Marc-Alexandre, Marianne (Maxime Chassé), and Alexandre; and his great-grandchildren: Mélodie, Léa-Rose, Charlotte, and Olivier. He was the brother of Alain (Lucette), and the late Fernand (Rita), Charlotte (Jean-Marc), Raymond, Jacqueline (Louis-Philippe), Raymonde (Clément), Guy-Etienne (Cécile), and Aline. Many relatives, friends, and nephews and nieces also mourn him.
A celebration of the Word was scheduled for August 9, 2026, at 12 pm at the Complexe funéraire Chicoutimi.
The family expressed their gratitude to the staff at the Centre d'hébergement Jacques-Cartier. Donations could be made to the Alzheimer Society Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean.
