Alex Ramirez, age 39, passed away on August 8, 2026. Born on February 11, 1987, Alex graduated and received his diploma from Aldine.
Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse & Maria Ramirez. He is survived by his mother, Yolanda Ramirez; his sister, Leslie Barillas; his brother, Justin McLemore; his brother-in-law, Jarison Barillas; his aunt, Janette Rubalcaba; his uncle, Albert Rubalcaba; and his cousins, Andy, Adam, Jerry, Junior.
With faith placed first, Alex’s days were shaped by devotion, love, and the quiet steadiness of a life rooted in what mattered most. He found meaning in reading the Bible and in his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He also expressed himself through drawing, and he treasured long conversations with friends—moments marked by sincerity, attention, and care.
Alex’s love for family was constant and evident in the simple joys he held close: time spent with loved ones, sharing meals, and appreciating the cooking of his sister and brother-in-law, as well as the cooking of his aunt Janette and Uncle Albert—especially Janette’s cooking. As anyone who knew him could attest, Alex truly loved food. He also enjoyed movies and spending time with his cousins Andy, Adam, Jerry, Mike, and Junior. He dearly loved his three dogs, Dani, Jolie, and GG, and he loved his Mama deeply.
A phrase that stayed close to Alex’s heart, and one that many will remember, was: “Goodnight, I love you and don’t forget to pray.” His legacy lives on in the faith he practiced, the love he gave freely, and the bonds he nurtured with family and friends.
Visitation will be held on August 20, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 pm. Both services will take place at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
