It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Concetta Nuccio Granata on July 2, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Cattolica Eraclea, Concetta immigrated to Canada in 1955, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and love. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Granata and the devoted mother of Maria (Joseph), Jim (Pat), Laura (Mike), and George (Caroline).
She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Nadia (Franco), Stephanie (Marco), Adriana (Michel), Amanda (Marco), Eric (Maria), Sara, Alessandra, Roberto, Lara, Chiara, Sofia, Julien, Michael, Christian, Joseph, Luca, Stella, Isabella, Ella, Elio, Clara, Gabriel, and Emilia, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Concetta was the heart of her family. She saw the good in everyone and welcomed all with warmth, generosity, and kindness. Her greatest joy was caring for those she loved, often through the wonderful Sicilian meals and desserts she prepared, including her famous springi, cassata, and ’mbignolati. Though an only child, she leaves behind a remarkable legacy—a large and loving family who will forever be grateful for her unwavering love and guidance.
