Elaine Paulette Bramall, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 12, 1946, Elaine lived a life defined by faith, love, kindness, and service to others. While she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now free from pain and resting in the arms of Jesus.
A proud native Houstonian, Elaine was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and called the city home throughout her entire life. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in downtown Houston through the eighth grade before attending Marshall Junior High School for ninth grade. She went on to graduate from Jefferson Davis High School in 1964. Elaine continued her education at the University of Houston, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Her love of learning remained a constant throughout her life. Early in her career, Elaine spent several years working at NASA, where she transcribed data. She later found her true calling in education and devoted more than 40 years to teaching middle school science. Teaching was much more than a career to Elaine. She was a lifelong learner herself and found great joy in sharing her knowledge with others. Over the course of her career, she touched the lives of countless students and left a lasting impact through her dedication to education.
Elaine's greatest joy, however, was her family. She loved deeply and gave generously, always finding ways to make the people around her feel cared for and welcomed. She especially loved spoiling her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews with treats. Whether she was sightseeing with her husband and children, spending time with those she loved, or opening her home to her entire family during the holidays, Elaine treasured being surrounded by family and friends.
Those who knew Elaine will remember her as caring, loving, wise, hospitable, and gentle. Her home was a place where people could gather, and her kindness made those around her feel loved. She cherished the many friendships she built throughout her life and held her friends close to her heart.
At the center of Elaine's life was her faith. A lifelong Lutheran, she had a deep love for God that was evident in the way she lived and cared for others. Her faith guided her throughout her life and remained a source of strength and comfort. The love of God shined through Elaine in the kindness, generosity, and compassion she extended to those around her.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Martha Strack, and by her beloved husband of 44 years, Clarence (Billy) Bramall, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Lance Bramall and his wife, Christina; her daughter, Megan Berger and her husband, Jason; her brother, Paul Strack and his wife, Maxine; her grandchildren, Madalyn, Cole, and Luke; her step-grandchildren, Megan and Shawn; her nephews, Stuart and Chris, and their families; as well as the many dear friends she made throughout her life and held so close to her heart.
Elaine leaves behind a legacy that extends far beyond the years of her life. It lives on through the family she loved so dearly, the students she taught, the friends she treasured, and the countless people who experienced her kindness and generosity. Her gentle spirit, wisdom, devotion to her family, love of learning, and unwavering faith will continue to live on in all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
