It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Franz Schweigel, of Kirkland, Quebec, on September 10, 2026, at the age of 93.
Franz immigrated to Canada on December 3, 1956, at the age of 23, where he built a beautiful life centred around his family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Binder, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage, and the devoted father of twin daughters Diana (Robert Cloutier) and Donna Schweigel.
He was a proud Opa to Kevin Cloutier (Carolyn Wilson), Justin Cloutier (Chelsea McDonough) and Andrew Racine, and a loving great-grandfather to Nathan, Henry, Jordan, Michaela and William.
Franz will be remembered for his strength, his devotion to his family and the wonderful life he built for the generations who followed him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and everyone whose life he touched.
