Gaynell Sexton Williams

July 3, 2026 Austin, Quebec Dignity Memorial

Gaynell Sexton Williams, age 79, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on July 3, 2026. She was born in Hariman, Kentucky on December 20, 1946, to her parents, Luther Byron Sexton and Verna Viola Sexton.

Gaynell graduated from San Jacinto College and received her LVN and EMT certificates. She met her husband Russell while he was serving in the Army with her brother. Gaynell devoted her career in nursing to serving the Pasadena School District for 10 years. She was a member of Sagemont Church and carried a deep commitment to continuing to learn about God and to share that knowledge with others.

Gaynell lived her life with unwavering faith in God. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she reflected Christ’s love in the way she cared for others—steadfastly, tenderly, and with a sincere spirit that drew people close. Her warmth was evident in the home she kept with such care, in the sweetness she loved to bake and share, and in the compassion she showed to dogs in need of rescuing. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her contagious smile, and an entertaining sense of humor that brought light to those around her. Even in simple, quiet ways, she offered joy and encouragement that will not be forgotten. She left this world peacefully to be at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While hearts grieve her loss, there is comfort and hope in the scriptural promise: “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.
