Psalm 116:7Jan Ellen Green Haney crossed the River Jordan and came into the promised glory of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 7, 2026. Jan loved life and lived it to the fullest. She knew she was only passing through this segment of eternity, this mortal life being only her temporary home. She had a spirit-filled life, indwelt by the Holy Spirit of Christ.Her greatest joy was in being grandmother to Brittney, Aiden, and Emmerson Haney; mother to Bradley Elliott Haney. She is also survived by her brothers, Dr. John Green and wife, Dr. Mary Elizabeth Lansdell Green, San Antonio, and Perry Allen Green, San Angelo; her sisters, Peggy Fiveash Dankworth and husband, Mike Dankworth, Ballinger, and Julie Rojas and her husband, Dr. Peter Rojas, Victoria; and her aunt, Linda Curtis, San Angelo. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Catheryne and Jeff Hasley, League City, Travis Green, San Antonio, Kelle Green, San Angelo, Amanda and Steven Behnken, San Antonio, Meagan Green, Austin, Andrea and Chris Gomez, Houston, Damian and Abby Rojas, Houston, Dr. Kristin Rojas, Houston, and Hilary Rojas and husband Chase Lunsford, Pensacola, Florida. Her cousin, Linda Blackwell and godchild Nancy Blackwell of Ballinger also survive to cherish her memory. Jan was predeceased by her son, Brian Allen Haney; and her parents, Dr. John and Mary Anne Green, Ballinger.Jan was a member of Chi Omega sorority and had served as president of the San Antonio Alumnae Association. Jan served for many years on the Advisory Council of the Academy of Creative Education, NEISD. She is a member of Wayside Chapel, teaching the Sophia Sunday School class, serving as a leader in women’s ministries and participating in the Celebration Choir. Although she had a career in education that spanned three decades, first in Arizona, then in Northside ISD and North East ISD and UTSA and had received her doctorate in education from Texas A&M University, College Station, her greatest accomplishments were in the kitchen of her home. She loved preparing meals for her family and friends. In addition to working with students with exceptional needs in the public school system, she ministered in Romania to young professionals seeking to know more about Christianity.A Celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 19th, 2026, at Wayside Chapel, 1705 Northwest Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78213. Jan loved the beauty of flowers however; she requests that contributions in her memory be made to Wayside Chapel.
