Joan Barnes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Barnes , of Knowlton, Quebec, on September 19, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born on April 24, 1943, Joan lived a quiet and meaningful life surrounded by the people and things she loved. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle nature, and the warmth she brought to those who knew her.

Joan shared many cherished years with her longtime partner, Maurice Ellis , who predeceased her in 2015. Their life together was a treasured part of Joan’s story, and she carried his memory with her throughout the years.

Joan had a special place in her heart for animals, and her beloved cat, Sally , was a cherished companion and an important part of her life.

Although Joan did not have children of her own, she was loved by her extended family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Joan’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, along with the many memories she left behind in the community of Knowlton and beyond.

May Joan rest peacefully, reunited with Maurice, and surrounded once again by the love she held so dear.
