Born on July 5, 1960, in Crandall, Texas, to Alex and Kay Riggs, Mary carried a creative and vibrant spirit from the very beginning, famously marching to her own beat while playing the trumpet in her high school band.

As an adult, that fierce dedication translated into an unwavering work ethic. Though she spent the early chapters of her professional life in the printing industry, her heart ultimately led her toward a deeper purpose: healing and comforting those in need. Returning to school to earn her certification as a patient care technician, Mary found her true calling in private duty care. To her elderly clients and their families, she wasn't just a caregiver; she was a steady hand, a calming presence, and a source of profound dignity during life's most vulnerable moments.

Outside of her vocation, Mary's greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a fiercely dedicated, loving mother to James 'Michael' and Kevin, a cherished daughter to her mother Kay, and a devoted sister to Alexia. She approached every role in her life with tenderness, strength, and an open heart.

Though she ultimately succumbed to the disease, following a courageous, hard-fought battle with cancer, the gentle warmth of her spirit, her infectious laughter, and the deep love she planted in the world do not fade. Her memory remains an enduring blessing to her family, her colleagues, and the countless lives she touched.
