Michel Rochefort, aged 77, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the Hospital of Enfant-Jésus. He was the son of the late Camilla Sertori and Cajetan Rochefort. He lived in Quebec.
He leaves behind his children Hugo (Virginie Bolduc) and Marie-Pier Rochefort (Marc-Antoine Dion); his grandchildren Alix, Lambert, and Auguste Rochefort; and his siblings Nicole (the late Claude Létourneau), Andrée (Ghislain Roy), Lise (Denis De Carufel), Sylvie (Jocelyn Doyon), the late Marc (Cécile Langlois), and Lucie (Yves Bergeron). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospital of Enfant-Jésus and the residence Humanitae of Quebec for their excellent care.
His remains will be displayed at the Coopérative funéraire de l'Abitibi, 141 Rue Principale Nord, Amos, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A ceremony will follow at 1 p.m. at the chapel of the Cooperative.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Abitibi-Témiscamingue or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
