Nevine Youssef

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Nevine Youssef, a loving mother, on June 28, 2026.

Nevine was born on March 28, 1962 in Egypt and at the age of 2, she and her family immigrated to Quebec. Nevine attended St-Monica’s Elementary school, then went on to Marymount High School, then Vanier College followed by McGill University where she met her husband Yves.

Upon graduating university, Nevine went on to have a successful and fulfilling career with the Royal Bank of Canada, where she met countless friends.

Nevine is survived by her loving husband, Yves Brunet; her wonderful son Alexandre Brunet; her mother, Therese Youssef; her sister, Gihane Youssef (Allan Gartshore) and many brothers and sisters-in-law.

Nevine and Yves married on June 12, 1993, at Sainte-Genevieve church. A memory from the reception: Nevine was determined to have a dance with all who were invited and she made it happen! She was tired but happy.

Their son, Alexandre, was born August 1, 1996. And that’s when we saw Nevine flourish as a mother. She was a natural and Alexandre was a fulfilling addition to the family. A life meant to be for Nevine.

Nevine enjoyed playing softball as part of the Kirkland Ladies Slow-Pitch League and Volleyball with the Kirkland Ladies Volleyball League for many years, where she made so many lasting friends.

Nevine enjoyed special times on summer vacationing on the beach in the Wildwoods with as many family and friends as possible. Nevine also greatly enjoyed a recent trip to France and a tour of Normandy.

Nevine is greatly loved and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends and all who have been fortunate to know this kind, loving, gentle spirited and special woman. Though her journey on earth has ended, the memories she gave us will continue to bring comfort, smiles and strength forever.

The Brunet and Youssef families would like to thank the ICU and Oncology staff at Lakeshore General Hospital for the gentle and compassionate care they provided Nevine throughout her time with them.

A gathering to honor Nevine will be held at Voluntas Commemoration, 4695, boul. St-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux Quebec H9H 2A7, on Saturday September 5th 2026 as of 1 pm followed by a celebration of her life at 3 pm.
