Tolentino Peña

Tolentino (Tolo) Ruiz Peña, 88, of Houston, TX passed on July 10, 2026. He was born on March 19, 1938, in Taylor, TX to Amada Silva and Doña Simona.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Maria G. Peña and sons, Thomas Vicente Silva and David Vincent Peña.

He is survived by his 5 children, Tolentino Daniel Silva (Josefina), Christina Hamilton, Marisela Kellen (Bryan), Leticia Martinez (Alan), Daniel Peña (Ana). He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, Erica Ingalls (Eric), Raquel Johnson, Robert DeLeon (Sarah), Leo Munguia (Kristina), Jocelyne Silva (Samuel), Julianne Silva, Alan Pereyra II, Brittani Pereyra, Samantha Layman (Jacob), AvaBella Windham, Isabella Peña, Vincent Peña, James Peña, Julian Peña, and 11 great grandchildren, Houston Munguia, Jazmynn Johnson, Layla Pereyra, Jaeda Johnson, Eli Ingalls, Spirit Cantu, Emmanuel Ingalls, Scotty Pereyra, Emilio Ingalls, Antonio Munguia, and Amelia DeLeon Strubbe.

Tolo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a wonderful man who had a contagious smile.

Tolo grew up in Taylor, Texas, lived in Chicago for a while, and later moved to Houston to work in manufacturing and eventually later in school districts. He had a passion for playing golf, watching boxing and his favorite football team, Dallas Cowboys.

He was everyone’s friend. He loved teaching others on how to play golf. He loved raw onions. He loved BB King and James Brown.

We will fondly remember Tolo for his wonderful smile, love and care for his wife, and kindness to others. He loved the almighty Lord Jesus Christ and was always thankful for God’s grace and blessings.
