Tranquilino Cruz “TC” Muñoz, Sr., age 74, passed away on May 2, 2026. He was born on July 6, 1951, in Flatonia and made his home in Houston.
TC was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannette Cano Muñoz; his parents, Blas and Dolores Muñoz; and his brother, Paul Muñoz.
He is survived by his six children: William Muñoz; Robert Muñoz; TC Muñoz Jr. and his spouse Jennifer, along with their children Taylor, Trey (TC III), and Jaxon; Corina Privett and her spouse James, along with their children Amanda, Abigail, and Adriana Sullivan and her spouse James, with their son Maddox; Melisa Bocanegra and her spouse Aaron Sr., along with their children Miranda and Aaron Jr.; and Eric Muñoz, along with his children Destiny, Gio, and Josiah. His 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson will carry on his legacy.
TC dedicated 28 years of his life to serving his community as a firefighter. He was a proud paramedic who served on the pumper truck, ladder truck, and spent much of his career on the Rescue Team. Known and respected by many, he also served as the driver for the chief and was considered his right-hand man. His commitment, bravery, and loyalty left a lasting impact on those he worked alongside.
Above all else, TC was a family man. He loved deeply and worked tirelessly to keep his family close, encouraging them to lean on one another through every season of life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known as a true jack of all trades—able to fix or build just about anything.
He also had a gift for bringing people together. Whether it was through his cooking—famous for making the best menudo—or on the dance floor, where everyone wanted to be his partner, TC created joy wherever he went. His love for music, laughter, and connection will be remembered by all who knew him.
Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He was deeply loved—more than he may have ever known—and will never be forgotten.
