Walter Earl Sharp, 88, died August 19, 2026. He was born October 31, 1937, and was a resident of Conroe, Texas for 60 years. Raised in Houston, Texas, Earl graduated from Reagan High School and later received certificates from Rice University for career advancement studies—an example of the steady, hard-working determination that guided him throughout life. Earl was an Army reserve veteran.He worked for Conroe Transit Mix, later known as Houston Shell and Concrete, and took part in home development in the Conroe area. Through years of honest work and dependable effort, he helped shape the community he called home.Earl was married to Dodie Sharp. Together they had three sons: Richard, David, and Charlie, and three grandchildren: Jason, Jeffery, and Julianne.Earl was a football coach for the Conroe Peewee Football League for many years. He was active in the Lake Conroe Racing and Cruising Association (LCRCA) and owned several sailboats. On the water and off, Earl’s devoted presence and beloved spirit were felt by those around him, often brightened by a natural, humorous way of meeting the day.Earl was a person who had a hard time saying “no,” a reflection of a giving heart and a readiness to show up when he was needed.
