John "JJ" Petrillo

John Joseph Petrillo, “JJ” age 73, of Emerson, NJ passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on December 1, 1952, in Jersey City, NJ, JJ was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a steadfast friend to many. He spent his life building a legacy of strength, warmth, and dedication to the people and passions he cherished most. He dedicated his life to a long and successful career in the car business, where his work ethic, passion, and genuine connection with people earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

An avid and talented golfer, JJ spent countless happy hours on the fairway. His skill on the course even landed him on the news when he accomplished the rare feat of scoring two holes-in-one. Beyond his athletic highlights, he was best known for his incredible quick wit, warm spirit, and legendary sense of humor—he had an effortless gift for bringing joy to any room and making everyone around him laugh.

Above all, JJ was a family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia; his son, John, and daughter-in-law, Kristin Petrillo; his daughter, Tina, and son-in-law, Gregory Radici; and his cherished grandchildren, Sofia and Sonny, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy.

JJ’s presence, guidance, and warmth will be deeply missed, but his memory and laughter will forever live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
