Rosemary Turpin Farren

July 30, 2026 Dunham, Quebec Dignity Memorial

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Rosemary Turpin Farren, who entered eternal rest on July 30, 2026, at the age of 87.

Rosemary was born on October 1, 1938, on Old Rocky Ridge Road, where she grew up surrounded by family, faith, and the values of hard work and perseverance. Raised during a simpler time, she often shared stories of drawing water from the family well, helping with household chores, and the close-knit community that shaped her character.

She graduated from Shades Valley High School, where she proudly played first clarinet in the school band. Following graduation, Rosemary worked for Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company, where she met the love of her life, Richard through a mutual friend and later retired from the Social Security Administration.

On October 1, 1961, they were married, and together they built a life centered on faith, hard work, and family. During their years with the United States Air Force and beyond, they welcomed three cherished sons. Rosemary's greatest joy was watching her family grow and being blessed with grandchildren, whom she treasured deeply.

A woman of many talents and interests, Rosemary enjoyed oil painting, embroidery, counted cross-stitch, reading, arts and crafts, scrapbooking, cooking, and collecting cookbooks. Her carefully created family scrapbook reflected her love of preserving memories and ensuring future generations would know their heritage.

She was a lifelong member of Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was baptized, married, and worshiped with her family for many years. Her quiet faith, generous heart, and steadfast love were evident in the way she cared for others and lived each day.

Rosemary will be remembered for her gentle spirit, creativity, unwavering love for her family, and the countless memories she leaves behind.

She is survived by her three sons, Patrick David (Kassie), Michael Curtis, and John Christopher (Cathy); brother, Michael Lawrence Turpin (Stephanie), her cherished grandchildren; Paul Farren (McKenzie), Jordan Farren, Nicholas Farren, Danielle Farren, Amy Rose Farren, Joel Farren, Ashleigh Farren-Jones (Stephen), Courtney Farren Crowder (Landon) and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Richard David Farren, her parents Joe Curtis Turpin, Sr. and Julia W. Turpin, siblings Alice Louise Turpin, Grace T. Walker, Joe Curtis Turpin Jr., Ann T. Scott, grandson Jeremy David Farren, and many other family members who welcomed her into eternal peace.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday August 4, 2026 at Croft Acton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 24204 Altadena Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35243.
