Frank Marquis

It is with sincere sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Tota, Frank Marquis.

Frank is predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean Jacobs;his cherished son, Nicholas and his loving grandsons, Gerald and Aronhiatekha.

Frank will also be joining his parents Paul & Louise, brothers Patrick, Peter (Pitt), Norbert and sister Mary.

Frank was a proud union Ironworker which he started in his early teens, served his community as a Council Chief, volunteer Fire Fighter before taking on the caretaker position in Tioweronton which he moved and raised his family up north for 22 years.He always enjoyed being up North, whether it be hunting, fishing or telling stories. Frank treasured his time spent surrounded by family and friends.

Frank’s strong work ethic and dedication were admired by all who knew him. In his quieter moments, he loved watching hockey and lacrosse, cheering on his children, grand children with enthusiasm. He was a kind and caring man who made friends everywhere he went, and he never passed up the chance to try his luck playing his Friday night Radio Bingo.

He leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his children Paul, Pete (Barbie), Slim (Dawn), Margie, Janet (George), Louise (Calvin), Tawenrate, and Cory (Carrie Layne)15 grandchildren,20 great-grandchildren,4 great-great-grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warmth, humour, generosity, and love for family will remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

The family will welcome relatives and friends to the Legion on Tuesday, May 26th from 12pm until the ceremony which will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 2pm.
