Jimmy was a man whose presence could light up any room. He truly never met a stranger. Known as the life of the party, he carried a quick wit, infectious humor, and an energetic spirit everywhere he went. Whether dressed sharp with his jewelry perfectly in place or sharing stories that left everyone laughing, Jimmy had a style and personality all his own. He was fun-loving, and full of life, yet beneath that lively exterior was also a serious and matter-of-fact man who deeply valued family, friendship, and loyalty.
His home was always open to others. Family, friends, neighbors, and even newcomers were welcomed with warmth and conversation. Jimmy was a true people person who enjoyed connecting with others and making everyone feel seen and appreciated. His laughter, honesty, and unforgettable personality will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jimmy worked for Ryder Rentals for several years and also held various jobs throughout his life while living in both Oklahoma and Michigan. No matter where life took him, he built lasting relationships and left a memorable impression on those around him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sam Houston Castleberry and Fandee Edna Castleberry; his sister, Dora Saxton; and his brothers, Floyd Castleberry, Sam Houston Castleberry Jr., and Theodore Castleberry.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his children: Roderick Monroe Castleberry, Keyiana Castleberry, and Jimmy Don Castleberry Jr.; grandchildren: Jay, Shae, Aniya, and Milani Castleberry; great grandchildren: Kai and Koa Castleberry, and Satori Mercell; his siblings: Edna Mae Owens, Shirley Jean Castleberry, Monroe Castleberry (Mary), and Albert Lee Castleberry (Elayne) along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and dear friends.

Just One Day
If I could come back for just one day
I know exactly what I would say
To my family and friends and those who I loved
As a message from God who speaks from above.
I would say it’s okay to be sad for awhile
But what I really want most is to see your smile,
And for you to go on a live once again –
Allowing the Lord to comfort your pain.
I know that you loved me with all of your heart
And that none of you wanted for me to depart.
I don’t quite understand it myself
But I know you’ll get by with a little help.
Yes, I would say to be sad for a day
And to do what you need to do.
And then lift up your eyes
to the wonder of the sky
And know that I loved you too.
