In Loving Memory of André BoivinIt is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of André Joseph Rodrigue Boivin, who passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, just days after celebrating his 85th birthday on August 9.Born in Montreal, Andy was lovingly adopted by his late parents, Yvette Guertin and Paul Boivin, who gave him a life filled with love and family. Throughout his 85 years, Andy built a life that was defined by the people he loved, the values he held close, and the unwavering loyalty he showed to those around him.Andy was a devoted father to his two sons, Robbie Boivin (Tanya Gural) and Blake Boivin (Roxanne Roy). Although life took him and their late mother, Linda Jette, on separate paths many years ago, Andy remained a constant and loving presence in his boys’ lives. He was immensely proud of both of his sons and took great joy in supporting them throughout their lives. He coached them in hockey for many years, cheering them on from the sidelines and encouraging them in all of their athletic pursuits. His pride in his boys was something that could always be felt.Twenty-one years ago, Andy found love again with Chandra Tantrege, and together they built a life filled with companionship, love, laughter, and countless memories. They remained devoted partners until the very end. Andy was also a loving presence in the lives of Chandra’s children, Indika, Gehan, and Lashini Tantrege, whom he cherished as part of his family.Above all else, Andy was a family man. He leaves behind a family who loved him immensely and who will miss his presence more than words can express. He will be lovingly remembered by his granddaughters, Callie and Sienna Boivin, who held a very special place in his heart, as well as Bill Gural and Linda Robin, Jessica Gural, Shawn and Liam Johnstone, Caroline Gural and Gonzalo, Aura, Elia, and Cruz Escalante, along with many other loved ones.Andy was a loyal man, a hard worker, and a true old-school gentleman. He believed in doing things the right way and lived by strong morals and values. His word meant something, and his loyalty to the people he loved never wavered.He didn’t need much to be happy. Andy found joy in life’s simplest moments—being surrounded by family, spending time with his grandchildren, travelling and seeing the world, enjoying a nice cold Corona, dancing, and simply being with the people he loved. His grandchildren could always count on finding a lollipop waiting for them in his pocket, one of the many little gestures that made Andy who he was.He was selfless by nature, always putting the people he loved before himself, and he found his greatest happiness in seeing those around him happy. Andy never asked for much and found joy in life’s simplest pleasures, appreciating deeply the little things that brought happiness to his life. It was this genuine appreciation for the simple moments, along with the love and generosity he so freely gave to those he cared about, that made him such a special and unforgettable person.He was a man who loved deeply, worked hard, remained true to his values, and found happiness in the people and moments that mattered most. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to so many lives. Though his absence will leave an enormous emptiness, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain with us forever.Andy will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.A Mass in Andy’s honor will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at:St. Luke’s Parish106A Anselme-LavigneDollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9A 1N8Family and friends are welcome to come together to celebrate Andy’s life, share memories, and honor a man who meant so much to so many.In keeping with Andy’s vibrant spirit, we warmly invite everyone attending his Mass to please wear color. Andy loved bright, vibrant colors and was especially known for wearing pink. He always felt that dark colors were far too somber. We know he would want his farewell to reflect the joy, warmth, and personality he brought into the lives of those around him. So, please leave the black at home, wear something colorful, and help us celebrate Andy the way he would have wanted—with love, color, and a little bit of joy.Rest peacefully, Andy. You were deeply loved, and you will be missed more than words can ever say.
