Anthony Daniel

Anthony Daniel, 87, of Port Lavaca, passed away on September 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will dearly miss him. He was born August 20, 1939, in Austwell, Texas, to Arthur Franklin Daniel Sr. and Mary Ethel Street Daniel.

Anthony’s life was deeply rooted in the land, the water, and the open sky. He worked as a farmer and rancher and spent decades flying as a crop duster, combining his dedication to agriculture with his love of flying. Whether tending the land, casting a fishing line, or heading out on a hunt, he was happiest surrounded by the outdoors.

He especially enjoyed hunting alligators, collecting boats, and spending time in Mexico. His love of adventure carried him from the fields to the skies and across the water, filling his life with experiences and stories his family will continue to treasure.

Anthony is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Daniel; daughter, Shelia Dierschke (Steven); son, Tony Wayne Daniel; five grandchildren, Casey Daniel (Lori), Ashley Hadley (Michael), Cassie Pate (Robert), Kara Krueger (Colton), and Ryan Dierschke; and seven great-grandchildren, with another on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Willie Epps; brother, Arthur Franklin “Buddy” Daniel Sr.; and grandson, Hunter Hadley.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 2, 2026, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Tivoli Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hunter Hadley’s Quest, Inc., honoring a legacy close to their hearts.
