Armande Poulin

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Armande Poulin, who passed away on August 19, 2026. She was 97 years old and died peacefully at CHUS – hôpital Fleurimont, surrounded by loved ones. She was the wife of the late André Phaneuf. She was the daughter of the late Rose-Alma Blais and the late Aimé Poulin. She lived in Sherbrooke.

Armande attended the domestic school in Upton, where she studied culinary arts and sewing. She was actively involved in the community of East Angus, participating in AFEAS, Cursillo movement, l’Entourlaine, and the Daughters of Isabelle.

She leaves behind her children: France, Yvan (Johanne Massé), Yves, Maryse (Alain Morrisseau), and her granddaughter Laurianne Morrisseau.

She was the sister of the late Étienne, Josephat, Éna, Sylvia, Urban, Simon, Irène, Lucille, Juliette, Hélène, Lucienne, Ovide (Thérèse Talbot), and Gaston, and sister-in-law of the late Paul, Florian, Dolorès, and Gracia. She also leaves many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive visitors at the Cooperative Funeral Home of Estrie (485 rue du 24-Juin, Sherbrooke) on Saturday, September 5 from 6 pm to 9 pm, and on Sunday, September 6 from 9 am to 11 am; followed by the funeral service at 11 am at the same location.

Her ashes will be interred at Saint-Louis-de-France Cemetery in East Angus at a later date.

The family sincerely thanks the emergency staff, the personnel of the 9th floor (CHUS), as well as the doctors and nurse from the Jacques-Cartier Clinic: Dr. Johanne Frégeault, Dr. Lucas Leclerc, and Ms. Jacynthe Busby. Thanks also to the staff of Fleuri-Bois residence, particularly Sophie from 2B.
