Barbara Anne Buchanan

PEKIN ~ Barbara Buchanan of Pekin, IL passed away on September 26, 2026 at 3:06 p.m. at The Villas of Holly Brook.

Barbara was born July 6, 1941 to Henry and Carrie Pfanz. She later married Jack Buchanan on February 15, 1962. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2026. Also preceding her in death are both of her parents, one sister; Ramona Righi, and three brothers; Don Heihs, Dick Heihs, and Ron Pfanz.

Surviving her are two sons; Brett and Brian (Carin) Buchanan, one brother; Daniel (Carolyn) Pfanz, three sisters-in-law; Jody Buchanan, Linda Pfanz, and Joyce Risinger, three grandchildren; Carrie (Dustin), Beau, and Brooke, and two great-grandchildren; Brynn and Tanner.

Barbara was a devoted member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Pekin. She also was a member of the Pekin Hospital Volunteer League. In her free time she enjoyed going on walks and spending time with her family, especially during the holidays and going on pontoon boat rides with them.

Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home and Crematory in Pekin with no services planned at this time.
