Carolyn Yarbrough Dobbs

Carolyn Yarbrough Dobbs, 88, went to be with her heavenly Father on September 25, 2026. She was born to Homer and Rudy Yarbrough on April 23,1938, in Etowah County.

Carolyn graduated from Etowah High School in 1956 and married Jerry Dobbs that same year. They shared 58 years of marriage before his passing. She worked as a banker in the Gadsden area for 35 years. She was a longtime member and pianist at Rockledge Baptist Church and later a member of First Baptist Church of Attalla. She loved reading, working word puzzles, gardening, traveling with her husband and her senior group, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dobbs; her parents; and her sister, Linda (W.C.) Hall. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Talton and Emily (Tim) White; grandchildren, Matthew (Emily) Talton, Nick (Brianna) White, Lauren Talton, and Sarah White; and great-grandchildren, Elliott and Beck Talton.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ethan Lake, Enhabit Home Health, Affinity Hospice, Dr. Dan Englert, and Clearview Cancer Institute.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Southside, Alabama. Rev. Earl Mitchell will officiate services. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
