Charles Wayne Schoeph

30 septembre 2026 Dignity Memorial

Charles (Charlie) Wayne Schoeph, 87, of Fort Wayne went to heaven on September 30, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice Home. He was born March 12, 1939, to the late Hubert and Lucille (Sproat) Schoeph. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lou, in 2021.

Charlie was the best husband, father and Pampy anyone could ask for. He loved his retirement because he was able to spend more time with family and friends. He was such a humble, patient, kind and giving man, always happy to use his God-given talents to repair anything for anyone. He was an active member of Christ United Methodist and later Aldersgate Church.

He was an avid Purdue fan, attending every basketball and football game for more than 20 years. He loved Midget and Indy Car racing, having attended the Indianapolis 500 for almost 40 years. He loved playing Euchre with his kids, grandkids and friends. Charlie was blessed with many close friends in his neighborhood, at church and at the Eagles. After graduating from Elmhurst in 1957, Charlie completed an apprenticeship at International Harvester and then worked for Harvester and Dana until he retired in 2001.

Charlie will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Dale) Hackett Borne; and sons, Kerry (Cheryl) Schoeph and Joe (Mindi) Schoeph. He was the loving Pampy of Amanda, Melissa, Kara, Adam, Justin, Olivia, Maya, and Nick, and great-Pampy to Evan, Abby, Charlie, Grace, Rhett and Hazel. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Evans, of Fort Wayne. Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Don Schoeph, and his son-in-law, Frank Hackett.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. with visitation from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 2417 Getz Road. Preferred memorials are to Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, Stillwater Hospice Home, or Aldersgate Church.
