Edward J Carpenter

Edward “Eddie or “Ed” Carpenter passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at his home. He was born to Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Scherle) and the late Raymond Carpenter on October 1, 1966, in St. Louis County, Missouri. He married Jennifer (Jennie) Carpenter (nee Haynes) on February 2, 2002.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer; his stepchildren: Chelsea and David (Samantha); his mother, sisters: Peggy (Kenny) O’Keefe and Susan Carpenter (Don); brothers: Tim (Grace), Rick (Donna), Dan (Berta), John (Cindy), and Bill (Holly); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; his aunt Bernadette Gregson (nee Scherle), and many cousins and friends. Preceding him in death besides his father was his brother Michael and his sister Jennifer (Jenny) Lemkemann (nee Carpenter), his mother-in-law Barbara Haynes (nee Trotman), his paternal grandparents Leon Carpenter and Ruby Daniel Carpenter Zurweller and maternal grandparents Emiel and Mae Scherle (nee Hess). And of course his Beloved dogs Buddy and Daisy!

Eddie was a quiet and gentle person, someone who didn’t always need many words to make his presence felt. He loved planning and executing the landscaping in the yard of the new house.

He was an experienced printing tradesman, that took pride in his work, and always got the job done! He was a "Gear Head" and loved classic cars, and worked on most of his own cars himself!

He was a Good Man and will be Greatly Missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold, Missouri 63010, on October 1, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
