Elaine McAllister Spangler

Elaine McAllister Spangler, native of Meadville, MS, and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 94.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 74 years, Jimmie Spangler; two children, Tricia Hopkins (Richard), and Michael Spangler (Kelli); grandchildren, Amy and Lauren Hopkins, Justin Spangler (Erin), and Sarah West (Dakota); great grandchildren, Amelia and Hazel Spangler, and Magnolia “Maggie” West; one brother, Aaron McAllister (Ann); and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Rhesa and Hazel Temple McAllister.

Elaine was a faithful member of Zoar Baptist Church, who enjoyed singing in the choir, reading, sewing, going thrift store shopping with friends, and traveling. She will be remembered for her kind heart, and being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

A visitation will be held at Zoar Baptist Church on Thursday, October 01, 2026, from 9 am until funeral services at 11 am, conducted by Pastor Glen Miers. Burial will follow in Steele Cemetery in her hometown of Meadville, MS.
