HERMAN Z. SANDER, 87, passed away on September 22, 2026 at his home in Southampton, PA where he lived since moving from Northeast Philadelphia with his family in 1975. The son of Samuel and Freda Sander, originally from Zashkov, Ukraine, Herman graduated from Philadelphia’s Central High School, a proud member of Class 206. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Temple University in 1960 and spent his career as a Certified Public Accountant. He volunteered for and completed service in the United States Army Reserve in the early 1960’s.

Herman was a lifelong learner, seeking knowledge through interpersonal communication. He loved to ski and was an avid racquetball player, continuing both activities into his 70’s. He loved to travel and explore the world through interactions with locals. He gave back to the community by serving many years as the Treasurer for Mental Health Partnerships, formerly the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Herman is survived by his wife Phyllis Sander of Warminster, PA, his son and daughter-in-law David and Penni Sander of Langhorne, PA, and his daughter Michelle Burg and her partner Jeff Sterlacci of Lake Worth, FL. In addition, he is survived by his 5 beloved grandchildren, Steven and Roshan Sander, Jordan Sander, Howard Burg, and Nicole Burg.
