James “Jim” Donald Stone, age 79, passed away in Wayland, MI on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Jim enjoyed wrestling and classic cars. He graduated from Jackson High School and later moved to the Dorr area were he worked as a rural newspaper deliverer as well as a dishwasher until his retirement.
Jim had an 11 year battle with Alzheimer’s and was a resident of the Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland, MI.
Jim will be remembered by his wife of 27 years, Catherine Stone, of Dorr, MI; Catherine’s son, Douglas (Darla) Chriswell of Gainesboro, TN; great-grandchildren Synthera and Storm.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Clifford Sr. and Margaret Stone of Jackson, MI; siblings Carl Stone, Clifford Stone Jr., Harold Stone, and Yvonne.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. In memory of Jim and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.kubiakcookdorr.com in Jim’s online guestbook.
