Jean Anthony McDonald

21 août 2026 Linton, Quebec Dignity Memorial

LEWISTON- Jean Anthony McDonald, known to most of his friends as Tony, passed away at CMMC in Lewiston Maine after a series of health complications just before 5am on August 21, 2026. He had members of his family beside him. Tony was born on January 18, 1957, to John and Jayne McDonald in Hartford CT. He spent most of his formative years running wild with his best friend Bill Bradley. He liked new experiences and stayed in different places over the years. He worked different jobs from banking, accounting, food and retail, and even was briefly a truck driver. While staying in Nicholson GA the invention of internet chat rooms allowed him to meet his future wife Jennie Specie who was living in Gainesville FL. On December 5, 1998, they were married in a private ceremony and subsequently had 3 children together. In all the spare time he had, he enjoyed playing guitar and telling stories. He loved being punny and watched the NE Patriots every season. His sense of humor ran to the dark, macabre, and irreverent and as his health declined, he loved joking with staff at the hospital. After he started getting sick and was less able to do what he loved, Tony decided to go back to school online and study religion. Once he started, he kept taking classes and eventually ended with a ThD from Liberty University. Tony is survived by his wife of almost 28 years, Jennie, his brothers Michael Griffin of Iowa and Kevin McDonald of Tennessee as well as his sister Cherie McDonald of Nevada. He is also survived by his 3 children Matthew, Aeryn, and Reilly as well as bonus child Audrey and his beloved cats Angel and Houdini. Good friends Bill Bradley, Paula Payton and Amy Filion will also miss his stories and humor. Tony is predeceased by both of his parents and his soul cat Buddy. Memorial donations can be made to gofund.me/5628f5d9b or sent to the family at 4 Ledges Court, Lewiston, Maine 04240. Arrangements by The Fortin & Pinette Group 305 Alfred A.
