Jodie (Stealer) Dykes

26 septembre 2026 Dignity Memorial

Jodie Marie (Stealer) Dykes was born February 20, 1959, beloved daughter of Jack and Maggie (Beaver) Stealer. She was a proud graduate of Salina High School. She went on to work for Gates Rubber Company in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where she dedicated many years of hard work and service before retiring.

Jodie married her beloved husband, David Dykes, and together they shared a special bond. They were not only husband and wife, but truly the best of friends. Their friendship, love, and companionship were a beautiful part of Jodie's life, and the memories they made together will always be treasured. She had a passion for preserving Cherokee tradition. She shared that pride through her involvement with the Cherokee Choir, where she loved singing and being part of something that honored her Native heritage and community. Her heritage was an important part of who she was and something she carried with pride throughout her life. She had a big heart and found happiness in the simple things in life. She loved going thrifting and visiting Goodwill, spending time with friends and family, and, most of all, being there for her nieces and nephews. Jodie was the kind of aunt every child should be lucky enough to have. She loved babysitting her nieces and nephews and was always ready to lend a helping hand, share a laugh, or offer a little guidance. Her nieces and nephews lovingly called her “Momma Jo”. Those who knew Jodie also knew her as “Boss Lady.” She liked to get things done, and she was never shy about giving a little instruction along the way. Her strong personality, determination, humor, and willingness to speak her mind made her unforgettable. She had a way of leaving her mark wherever she went and making sure things were taken care of. On September 26, 2026, Jodie passed from this life at the age of 67 years old. She was truly one of a kind, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Those that have gone on before her include her parents Jack and Maggie Stealer, one sister, Betty Boney, and three brothers-in-law, Andrew Boney, Reverend Dennis Bendabout, and Gary Angel.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, David Dykes of the home in Twin Oaks, OK, one brother, Jack Stealer and wife JoAnn Richie of Pryor, OK, and three sisters, Leona (Stealer) Bendabout of Tahlequah, OK, Shirley Feeling and husband Russell of Locust Grove, OK, and Judy (Stealer) Angel of Salina, OK, as well as her many cherished nieces and nephews, and great great-nephew, Elijah Darren “Yansi” Quinn, her choir family, friends and extended family.

Though she is no longer with us, Momma Jo’s love, laughter, and Boss Lady spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 1:00pm at Twin Oaks Baptist Church with Pastor Jess Glass officiating. She will be laid to rest at Elm Cemetery in Leach.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Doug Feeling, Jeremy Boney, Mike Stealer, Will Cochran, Cody Russell, and Chooch Quinn, with honorary pallbearers Dawson Rector, Colin Rector, Drake Stealer, Braxton Pond, Russell Feeling Jr., Drake Bendabout, and Dennis Bendabout III.
