It is with profound sadness that the family of Mary Freedman announces her peaceful passing at Mt. Sinai Hospital on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in her one hundred and first year. Devoted wife of the late Issie Freedman. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Sharon, David and Edwina. Daughter of the late Faiga and the late Moishe Abramovitz. She was the youngest sibling of the late Adele, (the late Leo), the late George (Phyllis), and the late Harry. Dear sister-in-law of the late Sarah and the late Al Abrams, the late Sam and the late Sue Freedman, the late Dave and the late Annie Freedman. Proud grandmother of Jonah and Rina Freedman, Rayme and Lisa Freedman, Hillary Freedman and Jake Greenbaum. Great grandmother of six. Heartfelt thanks to her caregiver Judita and to her exceptional social worker Joy Goldman, who went over and beyond the call of duty. Forever grateful to the caring staff of Mount Sinai Hospital, and assistant head nurse Adela. Big hugs to Gary Stupler and Alan Maislin. Mary leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews in the USA and Israel, and will be missed by all who knew her. A special thank you to her driver Marty Segal and to Helen Falashas who provided the respite for the family and care to Mary.
