Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Bryan.

Born to Tony and Lena Scarpinato Fazzino on March 22, 1936, Marie was a 1954 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School and continued her education at McKenzie Baldwin Business College.

Native of Bryan, Marie met and fell in love with her husband of 56 years, Chris Loria. They were married on February 17, 1957, in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bryan.

Through the years, Chris and Marie owned Lone Star Grocery & Washateria, and Sunshine Laundry providing dependable service to the community they loved. Marie started her career working for the Texas Welfare Office. She also worked for the Texas Agricultural Extension Service and later retired from the US Army Reserve after working 17 years as a civilian employee.

Marie was deeply committed to her faith and served as a quiet role model to those around her. She found joy in sharing her favorite Italian dishes and desserts, cherished family gatherings, loved card games with the “Golden Girls,” enjoyed casino trips, reading the Bryan Daily Eagle, and treasured the peaceful beauty of the family farm.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Loria; her parents; and sister, Callie Fazzino (Sam) Emola.

Chris and Marie were blessed with three daughters and their husbands, Debbie and Troy Robinson of Mineola, TX, and children, Clayton (Abigail) Robinson of New York City, NY, and Alex (Emily) Robinson of Dallas, TX; Diane and Mike Probst of Rockport, TX and children, Alyssa (Doug) Wilson of Queen Creek, AZ; Ashlee (Cody) Lynch of Galveston, TX; and Mark and Kim Hopcus, and children, Lorian (Andrew) Dusek, and Leah (Eric) Hausman, all of Bryan. Their blessings continued with ten great-grandchildren and the eleventh due in December. Marie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

It was her honor being Aunt Marie to her sister’s children, Anthony (Cindy) Emola, and children, Jana Emola (Sean) Austin, and Lance Emola; Lisa Emola (Larry) Lero and son, Trent Lero; and Glenn Emola and daughter, Callie Emola.

Chris and Marie were honored to serve as Godparents to 21 children at their baptisms and confirmations, sharing in the joy and responsibility of guiding them in their faith.

The family is forever grateful to the many caregivers who surrounded Marie with love, compassion, and dignity, including the dedicated teams at the Isle at Watercrest and Hospice Brazos Valley. Each played a meaningful role in her care, comfort, and happiness. A special expression of gratitude is extended to Martha Tumax, whose extraordinary care and constant companionship over the last few years created a bond that made her truly part of the family.

Servings as pallbearers are Andrew Dusek, Norman Ellison, Lance Emola, Eric Hausman, Alex Robinson, and Clayton Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Emola, Glenn Emola, Larry Lero, Trent Lero, Doug Wilson and Cody Lynch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 308 S Parker Ave, Bryan, TX 77803, or Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W 26th St, Bryan, TX 77803.
