It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Murray Black, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, at the age of 66. He passed peacefully at VGH with the services of M.A.I.D. after the discovery of stage 4 Colon Cancer that had metastasized to his liver and was spreading to his lungs. It happened within a month.
Murray was predeceased by his mother, Ellen, and survived by his sisters Tee and Julie (Thomas), nephew Ham (Leah), niece Aleisha, and close friend Sandra.
Murray was a musician, through and through. If he could play an instrument, he did. If he could not play an instrument, he learned. He played everywhere, for everyone who cared to listen. He busked alone on the street or in the Halls with a group. The consummate entertainer, he brought joy to all around him.
Murray was kind, funny, and charming, and will be missed by family and friends, too many to mention here by name. He will be particularly missed by his two younger sisters, who had the best big brother anyone could ask for.
The family prefers to remain private at this time, but messages of condolence may be sent to his home church, Fairview Baptist Church - 1708 - W. 16th Ave, Vancouver, BC, V6J 2R1
