Nell H. Cochran died on August 12, 2026. She was born Peggy Nell Hatfield on April 18, 1935 in Wake County, Sunset Lake Road, Apex, NC, the daughter of Leon S. and Nannie P. Hatfield. On August 14, 1953, Nell married Roy Cochran Jr. They celebrated 71 years of marriage.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: James Ronald "Ronnie" and Theresa B. Cochran; daughter and son-in-law: Beverly Cochran Beland and Richard "Bud" Beland, Sr.; six grandchildren: Christopher Cochran, Richard Beland, Shawn (Meredith) Beland, Steven (Morgan) Cochran, Chris (Sarah) Beland, and Kara Beland (Travis) Bass; and nine great-grandchildren: Ava Beland, Kaitlyn Beland, Hailey Beland, Raegan Cochran, Adalynn Cochran, Rowan Beland, Reese Bass, Nathan Hutchinson, and Logan Bass.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Catawba Springs Christian Church, 6801 Ten-Ten Rd, Apex, NC 27539, US, on August 16, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
