Rosemary Rodriguez

Rosemary Rodriguez, age 68, passed away on August 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Rose was born on December 21, 1957, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and devotion to those she cared about most. She was a beloved sister, godmother, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt whose presence touched countless lives.

She is survived by her siblings, Sebastian Rodriguez, Frances Rodriguez, and Juanita Miranda. She was preceded in death by her sister, Guadalupe Varela; her brother, Elias Rodriguez Jr.; and her parents, Elias Rodriguez and Guadalupe Rodriguez.

Rose graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1977, located in the heart of Houston's Northside community. She began her career shortly thereafter. Throughout her working years, she was employed by Three Weavers, NASA, and Ben Taub Hospital before dedicating many years of service to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. She worked in the Probation Department and later concluded her distinguished career in the Human Resources Department before retiring in 2017.

Known for being the glue that held her family together, Rose cherished every opportunity to spend time with loved ones. Family was at the center of her life, and her caring, loving, and generous spirit made everyone feel welcome and valued.

Rose was a true foodie who enjoyed discovering new restaurants and sharing meals with family and friends. She approached life with an adventurous spirit, a bold heart, and a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room. Those who knew her will remember her infectious laughter, playful jokes, and her ability to find joy in everyday moments.

Rose also shared a special bond with her beloved cat, Cinco. To Rose, Cinco was more than a pet; she was family. She treated her like one of her own, and the two shared a connection unlike any other. Whether Cinco was causing mischief or simply becoming the center of attention, there was never a dull moment when she was part of the conversation. The love and companionship they shared brought Rose endless joy and laughter.

Her many hobbies included reading, journaling, shopping, cooking, holiday decorating, binge-watching her favorite movies and shows, and trying her luck at the casino. A proud Houstonian, Rose was also a devoted fan of the Houston Astros and Houston Texans, never missing the chance to cheer on her hometown teams.

She embraced life fully and encouraged those around her to do the same.

Though Rose will be deeply missed, the love she shared, the memories she created, and the family bonds she strengthened will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Her legacy is one of love, laughter, family, and living life to the fullest. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and an example of kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to be a blessing to all whose lives she touched.
