Sandra Shawna McDonald

Sandra “Shawna” Erlandsen Mcdonald passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2026 in Houston Texas.Sandra was born on May 8th, 1940 in Spring Field, Massachusetts to Theodore F. Loeb and Elaine Ahearn. After graduating from the University of Saint Thomas she moved down to Texas in 1970 and met her husband Earl Erlandsen. Together they built a life and a beautiful home together where they had their son Eric. She worked for many years in publishing and even pursued teaching classic guitar. Sadly in 2000 Sandra's husband lost his battle with cancer. But as she healed and time went on, she met Tom Mcdonald in which they clicked instantly. Together they traveled many places around the world including Russia, Egypt, Ireland, and Paris. They took care of each other for many years until Tom's passing in 2008. Even so she continued traveling and meeting many people along the way. She was also an avid animal lover, adopting and saving many dogs and cats over the years who she loved deeply.In her later life you could find her in her beloved house playing piano, guitar, and feeding raccoons every night. She was an amazing woman who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Sandra is survived by her son Eric Erlandsen, with his wife Ryan Erlandsen, and her granddaughter Chloe Erlandsen, with her fiance Matthew MaierA small memorial service will be planned in the next upcoming months
