

Sil Confortini, 95 of Mather, died Sunday, August 2, 2026, at UPMC Greene, Waynesburg.
He was born August 31, 1930, in Masontown, a son of the late Joseph and Nancy Burchianti Confortini.
Sil was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson High School and a 1953 graduate of Waynesburg College, with a Bachelor of Science degree. He had also done some graduate work at West Virginia University and California University.
He was a retired social studies teacher at the Jefferson-Morgan High School for 36 years, retiring in 1991.
On June 8, 1953, he married Jennie Manfredi, who died June 27, 2017. They lived all their 64 years of marriage in Mather.
Sil was a former member of the Clarksville Lions Club and had served on the board during the development of the Lions Medical Center in Dry Tavern.
All his married life he was a parishioner of St. Marcellus Church of St. Matthias Parish, where he had been an active member of the parish council and the Knights of Columbus.
He loved watching his Pirates, Steelers, and Grit tv. He most enjoyed golfing and gardening. And most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
