Sofia P. Antonio, 88, of Palm Coast, FL formerly of Danbury, CT, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026. She was the wife of the late Afonso L. Antonio.
Sofia was born in Coentral das Barreiras, Portugal, daughter of the late Diamantino and Palmira Alves. Sofia was employed for Davis & Geck / American Cyanamid for 30 years before retiring in 1995.
Sofia moved to Palm Coast, Florida in 2004. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish while in Danbury and of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish in Palm, Coast. She was a member of the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury and also in Palm Coast, Florida.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters: Elizabeth Cabral and son-in-law, Lauro, of Palm Coast, FL; and Susan Pereira and son-in-law, Luis, of Brookfield, CT. Her grandsons, Justin and Matthew Cabral of Florida; her sister, Manuela Lourenco, of Portugal, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Charles T. Sease.
A Mass of Christian Curial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 149 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury, CT. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT.
Friends will be received from 9:30am to 10:30am on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT. Contributions in Sofia’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter, 10 Executive Dr., Suite 202, Farmington, CT 06032.
