Suzanne Thomasson King, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, at the age of 81.
She was born on September 21, 1945, and spent most of her life in the Houston area, with 12 cherished years in New Orleans, Louisiana, before making her home in Montgomery, Texas.
Suzanne graduated from Texas Tech University in 1967. Shortly after on August 19, 1967 she married the love of her life, John J. King, Jr. Together, they built a family and life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
A lifelong homemaker, Suzanne devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She also enjoyed working as a private tennis coach when her girls were younger, and middle school coach as they got older, sharing her love of the game and encouraging young people along the way.
She was a woman of faith and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Conroe. Giving back to others was an important part of Suzanne’s life, and one of her favorite volunteer activities was preparing lunches for the Salvation Army. She found joy in helping others and quietly making a difference in the lives of those around her.
Suzanne had a wonderful sense of adventure and inspired her family to develop a love of travel. She treasured the places she visited and, even more, the memories made along the way. She also loved golfing with her friends and spending time with the people she loved most.
Her greatest joy, however, was her family—especially her grandchildren. Suzanne was always ready to sit down and play a game with them, creating the kind of simple, happy memories which stay with a family forever. She loved being part of their lives, cheering them on, making them laugh, and simply being there.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, John J. King, Jr.; their daughter Julie Crawford, and her husband, John and their daughters, Cassidy and Kelsey; their daughter Leslie Nagy, and her husband, Steve and their sons, Oliver and Theo; and her brother Mike Thomasson, and his wife Dee Ann, as well as countless nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her generous heart, her faith, and the countless ways she showed up for the people she loved. Most of all, she will be deeply missed by her family, who were blessed to call her wife, Mom, and Nana.
Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Conroe on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Salvation Army of Conroe, in memory of Suzanne King.
