Tommy Eugene Crumbley, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the age of 68.
Tommy was born on February 17, 1958, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a loving and devoted family man, an excellent provider, and an incredibly hardworking man who took great pride in caring for the people he loved.
Tommy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Gay Crumbley, as well as many other beloved family members.
He is survived by his only daughter, Tanya Gonzales; his two sons, Derek Crumbley and Kirk Crumbley; his brothers, Phillip Crumbley and Danny Crumbley; his sisters, Linda Cunningham and Carla Jetton; and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Tommy dedicated more than 34 wonderful years of hard work and service to the H-E-B Distribution Center in Corpus Christi before retiring. During his years there, he became well known and lovingly remembered by his coworkers as “Tomcat,” “Commando,” and “The Legend.”
Tommy took great pride in solving problems, addressing issues, and finding efficient ways to keep the machinery running and the bakery moving. He was the kind of person who could be counted on to figure things out and get the job done. Along the way, he formed many lasting friendships with coworkers who became more like family.
That same generosity and willingness to help followed Tommy home. There was rarely a day when someone wasn't stopping by the house to spend time with him. Friends and family were always welcome, whether they were there to relax, work on vehicles, build something, fix something, or simply enjoy each other's company. Tommy had a way of making people feel at home, and his door was always open.
More than anything, Tommy will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends, his hardworking spirit, his willingness to lend a hand, and the countless memories he created with the people around him. He was a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and gave freely of himself to those he cared about.
Tommy will be dearly missed and forever loved by everyone whose life he touched. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we know Tommy would not want us to dwell on the sadness of his passing. Instead, he would want us to remember him for the amazing man he was, to share the stories, laugh at the memories, and carry his love with us.
His work here is finished, but his memory will live on in all of us. May he rest peacefully for all eternity, knowing just how deeply he was loved.
Commando, we love you! You will never be forgotten.
Services will be posted at a later date.
