Yvon Cayouette

Yvon Cayouette, who was born in 1938 and passed away in 2026, was a resident of Chicoutimi. On May 12, 2026, he died at the age of 88 at the CIUSSS du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, Hospital of Chicoutimi. He was the husband of the late Mariette Blackburn and companion of the late Raymonde Morin in his last years. He was the son of the late Flore Gauthier and the late Jean-Baptiste Cayouette.

A family gathering to honor him will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Complexe funéraire Chicoutimi. The cremation was entrusted to the Alliance funeral home, and his ashes will be buried later at the Ste-Praxède cemetery in Bromptonville (Sherbrooke). He is survived by his sister Claire Cayouette (the late Raymond Rondeau), Roger Cayouette, and Elizabeth Lavoie (Alain Larouche). He was also the brother of the late Gilles Cayouette (Micheline Moisan) and brother-in-law of the Blackburn family members.

Many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends mourn his passing. The family extends thanks to Mme Diane Bergeron for her many years of service to the Cayouette family, Lorraine, Pierre (Jacqueline Laurin), the Gauthier family, and Bernard Bilodeau for their kindness in recent years towards Yvon.
