André Simard (dit Ringo), passed away on June 12, 2026 at the age of 82. He was a resident of Laterrière and was the son of Marie-Blanche Gaudreault and Adélard Simard. He is survived by his daughters Sandra Ménard (Dany Ménard) and Annie Alvaro (Sergio Alvaro), their mother Céline Potvin, and his grandchildren Cédrick Ménard, Jonathan Ménard, Vincent Alvaro, and his great-grandchildren Logan, Zoé, and Jayne. André was also the brother of Alain Simard, Richard, Hevens, Gilbert, Gilles, Lisette, and Louise, and the godson Éric Simard, along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He enjoyed visiting the Maison de soins palliatifs du Saguenay and his family encourages donations to this organization in his memory.
A farewell ceremony was held at the Complexe funéraire Chicoutimi on June 12, 2026, at 18:30. His ashes will be interred at the Sainte-Anne Cemetery at a later date.
