Angela Casale Sinacore, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, just days before her 96th birthday.
Angela was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 71 years, John S. Sinacore. She is survived by her daughter Wendy (Paul) Haidinyak, daughter, Deborah (Todd) Parker and 3 grandchildren, Kelly Haidinyak, Sarah (Drew) Cessna, and John Parker, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
Angela graduated from her beloved Hunter College (BA) and New York University (MA) in physical and health education, reflecting her lifelong passion for fitness, wellness and teaching others as she did at Mattituck High School and SUNY Cortland.
These passions aligned with her beloved husband, John Sinacore, as they collaborated throughout their lives resulting in the publication of several health education textbooks.
In retirement, these collaborations included: serving in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for 21 years where she taught water safety and rescue operations, travelling by boat throughout Canada and New York State, and playing in golf and racquetball leagues.
Besides her husband, her biggest passion was water. She had to be in it or at least looking at it. Thus, living on a boat on Lake Ontario during the spring to fall seasons was ideal for her.
Swimming was a big part of her life. She participated in Masters Swimming wherever she lived and for decades recorded her One Hour Swim distance in a dedicated swim notebook. Her top honor was 10th place at the International Masters Swim Meet in Montreal’s Olympic facility in the 100-meter fly.
Angie was a creative soul. Her artistry could be seen throughout her life in many different art forms from embroidery stitching on overalls and family crests, to stained glass windows, award winning hooked rugs, and making photo albums that documented family history in a unique and beautiful way.
Her family will miss her wonderful Italian cooking. She fed the masses in family and faculty dinners for years. Most of all we will miss her apple pie.
Angela’s legacy lives on through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched with her kindness, optimism, and encouraging spirit.
Relatives and friends are invited to reflect on Angie's life with her family during visitation from 9:00-10:00a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd., Pittsford, NY 14534, where a Memorial Service will be held immediately following at 10:00a.m. Angela will then be laid to rest in the Nature Trail.
